PLA is not a plastic. PLA, also known as polylactic acid, is a plastic made from plant starch. Unlike traditional plastics, its source is renewable resources such as corn starch, which also makes it biodegradable. Most conventional plastics come from the distillation polymerization of non-renewable petroleum and natural gas. Plastics derived from biomass (such as PLA) are called "bioplastics".


PLA corn material has the following advantages:

1. PLA card-based material products are 100% biodegradable, with a degradation rate of more than 90% under industrial composting in 180 days;

2. 100% recyclable throughout the life cycle;

3. Energy conservation and carbon reduction, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by 60%, and non-renewable energy consumption can be reduced by 50%;

4. Low VOC, the material matrix does not emit formaldehyde, benzene, toluene and other toxic and harmful gases;

PLA is made from regenerated plant resources (corn, wheat grains, sugar beets, etc.) as starting materials, and then spun into polylactic acid fibers.

After this fiber product is discarded, it is completely decomposed into carbon dioxide and water needed for plant growth with the help of microorganisms in the soil and water. It is a completely natural cycle, biodegradable and environmentally friendly fiber.


PLA has excellent biodegradability and can be completely degraded by microorganisms in the soil within 180 days after being discarded, producing CO2 and water, without causing pollution to the environment.

The plastic classification mark of polylactic acid is 7. There are various waste disposal methods for discarded polylactic acid products, such as natural decomposition, composting, and incineration.

It has high safety (Safety) and can be used to package food. PLA can be in contact with the skin for a long time. It has high antibacterial power and can be used to package fruits and fresh food.

It meets the needs of environmental protection, has good transparency, good mechanical strength, strong tensile strength and ductility, and can be processed by all plastic processing methods.
